Hello! Thank you very much for your letter and for your consideration and care. May God grant you well being for years to come! Before the war our family, my father, my mother, my 2 sisters and myself lived in a small Jewish community called Shargorod. My father was a sole breadwinner so our family was poor, but we weren’t starving, thanks to God! Then the war began. My father was drafted and my mother and I remained in the [German] occupied territory. The Germans didn’t stay long, though, then the Romanians came. Anyway, it’s a long story… I’ll be feeding it to you little by little in every letter if you are interested.
I am very happy that you are taking care of me. May God give you and your loved ones good health. I am very thankful. Your letters encourage me and give me hope that there are a lot of good people in this world! My son and his family send their best wishes. I wish for you to be happy and healthy for many years to come. May God help you!
With respect and gratitude,
Asya
