Hello, Zane,
On August 13th this year I received your letter, so long awaited. I am very
grateful to you for this.
We feel very uneasy and don’t want to burden you, but if it’s not difficult please send us a parcel with food stuff. We
will be very grateful to you.
I want to tell you a few words about my father. He was born on February
27th, 1927 in Kaunas. He was the native of Kaunas. He was brought up in a
Jewish orphanage till 1941 when the war broke out. Together with other
children and tutors they left Lithuania successfully and found themselves in
Kuibyshev, now called Samara. There he stayed till the end of the war. After
the war in 1945 he returned to his city. There he lived till 1962 and on
November 10th they married and moved to Mariyampole. He worked at the local
plant as a worker for almost 26 years. In 1987 at the age of 60 he retired
and lived five years more. On May 22nd, 1992 he died of cancer. So, that was
his life, to tell briefly.
In the end, I would like to wish you happiness, health and all the possible
blessings in life.
